Should I remove the old lawn or lay new sod on top?
Take it out. Laying new sod over old grass and weeds buries the problem, and the ground never gets levelled. Removing it first is how you get a flat lawn that lasts.
Do you remove the old lawn for artificial turf?
Yes. Turf needs the old grass and soil dug out so we can build a compacted base underneath. It's part of every turf job we do.
What happens to the old sod?
It leaves with us, along with the soil and debris. The site gets cleaned up every day.
