Who we are
The H Group is an owner-run landscaping and concrete company serving Windsor and Essex County, Ontario. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what we do with it. We handle personal information in line with Canada's privacy law for businesses, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect
When you call, text or email us, ask for an estimate, or hire us, we may collect:
- your name, phone number and email address
- the address of the property where the work would be done
- details about the job, and photos of your yard that you send us or that we take for the estimate
- quotes, invoices and payment records
We only ask for what we need to quote and do the work.
When you visit this website
This website has no forms and we don't run our own analytics on it. It's hosted by Wix. Like any web host, Wix receives technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you view, so it can deliver and secure the site, and it may use cookies needed to do that. See Wix's privacy policy. The site also loads some standard code from a public content delivery network (unpkg.com), which receives your IP address when it sends that code to your browser.
Links to Google, Facebook and Instagram take you to those services, which have their own privacy policies.
Advertising
We may advertise on platforms such as Google, Facebook and Instagram. Those platforms may use cookies and similar technology to show you our ads and to measure how they perform, and they handle that information under their own privacy policies. You can manage how ads are personalized for you in your Google account (My Ad Center) and in your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences.
If we add advertising or analytics tools to this website, we'll update this policy to say so.
How we use your information
- to answer your questions and give you an estimate and a written quote
- to schedule and do the work, and to deliver materials to your property
- to invoice you and keep business and tax records
- to follow up about your job, including any questions after it's finished, and occasionally to ask whether you'd like to leave a review
- to meet our legal obligations
We don't sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
Only as needed to do the work and run the business:
- our crew, and any subcontractor working on your job
- suppliers, when materials are delivered to your property
- the services we use to run the business, such as our phone, email, accounting and website providers
- anyone we're required to share it with by law
Some of these providers may store information outside Canada, where it's subject to the laws of that country.
Photos and reviews
We may post photos of finished work on this website and on our social media. We don't post your name with photos of your property without your permission. If you'd rather we not show your property, tell us and we'll take the photos down.
Reviews you post publicly on Google may be quoted on this website with your first name and last initial. Ask us and we'll remove a quote.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the reasons above, including questions after a job is finished and the business and tax records we're required to keep. After that, we delete it or destroy it securely.
How we protect it
We use reasonable safeguards, such as password-protected accounts and devices, and we limit access to the people who need it to do your job.
Your choices
You can ask what personal information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to how we use it, subject to legal and contract limits. Contact us and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
